Forsyth Striders Club Mission

Our mission is to promote better fitness for everyone regardless of age or experience level through running and walking. Our members range from 14 to 75 so never think you’re too young or old to become fitter. Some of our members are still running even in there 70’s.

Promote Running Fitness
Through walking and running you can achieve better health and more energy giving yourself a feeling of joy that you’re taking the steps to stay in shape and remain healthy. Running and walking are excellent forms of exercise simply because it takes no special skills or talents to get started, it’s a way of staying in shape with friends or on your own, it’s a exercise you can do almost anywhere at anytime. Although there may be many specialty clothes marketed toward exercise all that’s really required are shoes suitable to your weight, feet and stride.

Group Workouts
We’ll have group runs two to four times a week depending on the season at different places. As you continue to meet more members in your area hopefully everyone will make new friends to run and walk with. Having partners will definitely make you more reliable and determined to stick with it year round, and before you know it you’re a different person. Running and walking improves your lungs, heart, vascular system, muscles, balance and even your mind. So whether your goal is to run a marathon or just feel and look better, we can help you achieve a better you!

Develop Local Running Events in Support of Worthwhile Causes and the Local Community
We are a non-profit 501-(C) 3 origination proud to be involved with PCEC Prostate Cancer Education Council in bringing the Pace race series to metro Atlanta. The Prostate Awareness and Cancer Education (PACE) Race series has grown substantially since it was launched in 2002. We are dedicated to saving lives through the education of men, their families and the medical community by emphasizing the importance of early detection and available treatment options. Our event focuses not only on prostate cancer survivors, but recognizing the family members and friends that have become the support network and caregivers for prostate cancer patients along with improving quality of life after surgery. Elements of the FAST PACE Race includes: special recognition of survivors and caregivers, free PSA blood screenings, free DR exams, information booths, along with entertainment and giveaways.
